"Auto-Sincretismo / Self-Syncretism", óleo sobre lino / oil on linen, 53,34 x 40,64 cm.

"Secuelas / Aftermath", óleo sobre lino / oil on linen, 37" x 54"

"Figura Re-Kline-Ada / Figure Re-Kline-Ing", óleo sobre lino / oil on linen, 43" x 40"

Izq./ Left: "Jay", óleo y carboncillo sobre lino / oil and charcoal on linen, 39" x 28"
Der./ Right: "Mostrador / Front Desk", óleo y crayones sobre lino / oil and crayon on linen, 34" x 28"

"Restauradores / Restorers", óleo sobre lino / oil on linen, 29" x 39"

"Ángel rosa / Pink Angel", óleo sobre lino / oil on linen, 55" x 30"

American Artist Cover Competition, 2011

"My goal with the painting Temperance was to present a young girl of today's world and give her a pictorial power, a common quality of the paintings of the past. I aimed to create a timeless image, with a seemingly simple pose yet profound and thoughtful.
The most difficult part of this painting was to portray a natural young girl in a simple pose, humbly dressed, her hair simply combed; at the same time giving it a profound feeling showing her strong character and perhaps her thoughts.
In order to provoke these feelings, I had to have a strong lighting effect to emphasize the drama."

"Assoluta", óleo sobre lino / oil on linen, 34" x 48"

"Arcoiris / Rainbow", carboncillo y gesso negro sobre papel / charcoal and black gesso on paper, 44"

He's a graduate of the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy, where he was trained in techniques and methods developed in the 19th Century French ateliers. He also studied at the New World School of the Arts in Miami, Florida, after receiving his Associate of Arts Degree from Miami Dade College.
He is better known for his Syncretism, a term he used since 2011 to describe paintings where he presents two or more art tendencies in aesthetic balance.x 55"

"Bailando con el Sr. Bacon / Dancing with Mr. Bacon", óleo sobre lino / oil on linen, 30" x 23"

"El estudio del Maestro / The Master's Studio", óleo sobre lino / oil on linen, 36" x 36"

«My uncle (Raúl Santos Zerpa - Santoserpa, see below) is a famous painter in Cuba, and he was having exhibitions by the time I was growing up so I was able to attend some of the shows, and I realized that I liked that atmosphear, to be the center of attention, and having the paintings hanging, and people looking at them, I loved that idea. So that's I think I became more inspired, interested in the art.»

Der./ Right: "Criollo", carboncillo sobre papel / charcoal on paper, 50" x 38"

«Since we're immigrants, my father is a mechanic and he was working full time to take care of four of us: my sister, my mom... and I saw that effort, and I think I learn from that. And also by don't having much money, and giving me all they had by the time I had to go to Europe to study, because I got a scholarship on my college, I didn't have a loan, I was lucky enough to get good grades to be able to get my scholarship to have a full covered college. And then I saw them seen my passion and said: Ok, this guy needs and study this art. So they sold house, my mom had two jobs and they started supporting me until I was fullfilled and graduated.»

During this time, he pursued acting professionally and acted in a number of theatre productions and television shows. However, dissatisfied by the modernist approach of the school, he dropped out and travelled to Italy in search of training in the art of painting.

«As soon as I incorporated the figure the painting got more power», he says. «After all, we are human. Immediately, I saw you can express so much with the figure. I started exploring it and found that I love the female form with the lyrical lenght that flows through it.»
